The Goal

Helping Vita to scale their business by inspiring people through online services to live free of chronic diseases resulting in a better lifestyle.

What is it all about?

Our job was to find the right way to support people who are interested in changing their lifestyle and habits to improve their health and wellbeing.

What did we find out?

During the research process the most relevant insights were:

- Changing habits is hard.

- People prefer simple and easy ways to improve their lifestyle.

- People find it difficult to stick to a plan and stay motivated.

Who did we discover?

The research uncovered the ‘Yo-Yoers’  An archetype with the following characteristics:

- Prefer simple and achievable eating plans.

- Haven’t been able to follow professional advice

- Have a lack of motivation due to their environment and age.

What’s the problem?

The Yo-Yoers need to achieve consistent eating habits so that they can focus on other aspects of their life without becoming fatigued.

What’s the solution?

The platform was designed to help people find healthier food options to replace the “unhealthy” products that were in their current diet. Users would learn and discover the health benefits and recipes of these replacement foods and have the option to share them.

Be open about what the research is asking you for.

From the very beginning the research was leading us to be open to more types of research that could help us to understand the users.

It was very important for us to identify what we were needing to do in the early stage of the project to identify different points of view (people vs professionals) that could help us to have a better understanding of the Yo-Yoers.

Have a good understanding of the market.

Analysing direct and indirect competitors was the best way to understand where the product/service opportunities were. We were able to identify possible issues that could arise in the future and things that could be done better.

Don’t discard any concept until the end of the process.

It is important to be open to every single idea. Let the ideation process combine and evolve these ideas as they could become part of the final concept.

What did I learn from this project?
